Typically, senior teams are not teams at all, until they have put specific work into becoming a team. They are usually working groups, with members who are skilled and experienced in their own areas, and who automatically wear those hats to the table. Members are individually well-intentioned but often find it hard, or even against their personal values, to set aside their professional loyalties to think corporately, especially outside the regular group meeting.
